The Hougang Central Residences showroom, or sales gallery, is where you will see the model units, a scale model of the development, finishes and fittings samples, and the sales team. “Showflat” usually refers to the model units themselves. Either way, it is where most buyers make their decision.
What usually happens around a launch
- Preview for registered buyers. The showflat opens first to people who have registered interest. The indicative price range is often released around this time.
- Public viewing. The showflat then opens more widely, often with weekend crowds.

During the preview, viewings are normally by appointment. - A shortlist of unit types and a tape measure or phone measuring app.
Check
- What is real and what is dressed up. Model units often have upgraded furniture, mirrors and false ceilings. Ask which finishes come with the unit.
- Strata area versus usable space. Ask how much of the area is AC ledge, bay window, void or household shelter.
- Stack and facing. Look at the site model: which stacks face the mall, the MRT, the bus interchange or open views.
- Noise and access. In an integrated development, ask where the residential lobby, drop-off and car park sit relative to the mall and bus interchange.
- Payment scheme. Confirm whether only the standard progressive payment scheme is offered.
Take photos of the site model and the unit layout you like. Floor plans look very different on paper than in person, and photos help when you compare stacks later.
