Punggol Polyclinic and the Other North-East Polyclinics: Sengkang, Serangoon and Hougang Compared

Punggol Polyclinic is one of four public polyclinics in Singapore’s North-East, and the one with the most searches. The others are in Sengkang, Serangoon and Hougang. If you are thinking about living at LinkTown Residences (Hougang Central Residences), the planned condo above Hougang MRT (NE14), all four sit on or beside the North East Line, so you are never far from one. This guide lays them out side by side, explains the two booking systems, and gives the trip to each from Hougang Central.

Punggol Polyclinic (SingHealth)

Punggol’s polyclinic takes up part of Level 2 at Oasis Terraces, the neighbourhood centre beside the Punggol Waterway. SingHealth gives the address as 681 Punggol Drive, #02-01, Singapore 820681. Oasis LRT station is next to the building, buses 50 and 386 run along Punggol Drive, and there is parking inside Oasis Terraces.

Besides doctor consultations, SingHealth lists laboratory tests, dental care, pharmacy and prescription delivery, video consultations, and allied health such as dietetics, physiotherapy and podiatry. X-ray, mammography and ultrasound have their own line, 6718 2094. It is also a Healthier SG clinic, so you can enrol there as your family doctor.

Getting there from Hougang Central: take the NEL three stops north to Punggol (NE17), then the East loop LRT two stops to Oasis. Allow roughly 20 to 25 minutes door to door (approximate). Sengkang Polyclinic (SingHealth)

Sengkang’s polyclinic is on the ground floor of Sengkang Community Hub at 2 Sengkang Square, #01-06, within walking distance of Sengkang MRT and bus interchange. It has X-ray and mammography on site (6350 7378 for those services). Drivers can park at Sengkang Square, Compass One or nearby public car parks.

For a Hougang resident this is often the easiest alternative to Hougang Polyclinic: two stops north, no transfer, and Compass One next door for lunch or shopping. Sengkang General Hospital is in the same town, which helps if you also see its specialists.

Serangoon Polyclinic (NHG)

The newest of the four opened on 29 November 2025 at 587 Upper Serangoon Road, across the road from Serangoon MRT (NE12/CC13) and NEX. At the opening, the Ministry of Health described it as Singapore’s largest polyclinic to date. The building combines the polyclinic with a dental clinic, a National Kidney Foundation dialysis centre and an Active Ageing Centre, and it runs programmes on frailty and falls prevention for older patients. There is a basement car park.

From Hougang it is two NEL stops south. If you are pairing a visit with errands, NEX is across the road.

Hougang Polyclinic (NHG)

Hougang Polyclinic at 89 Hougang Avenue 4 is the closest to the LinkTown Residences site, a walk rather than a ride. Hours are as listed on the SingHealth Polyclinics and NHG Health websites in September 2026. NHG notes that registration may close early when a clinic is crowded. Hours change around public holidays, so check before you go.

Booking: SingHealth vs NHG

The two clusters run separate systems, but the HealthHub app (log in with Singpass) covers polyclinics in both, so most households only need one app on the phone.

• SingHealth (Punggol, Sengkang): call 6643 6969 or book online. SingHealth strongly encourages appointments for regular follow-ups. Without one, you get an estimated same-day time slot after taking a queue ticket at the self-service kiosk.
• NHG (Serangoon, Hougang): call 6355 3000 or use NHG Health’s booking links.
• First visit to a clinic: expect a one-time registration. Bring your NRIC, the medicines you take and any referral letter.

What is coming next

The Ministry of Health has said a polyclinic in Bidadari, along Upper Aljunied Road near Woodleigh MRT and co-located with a nursing home, is expected to be ready by 2027. At the Serangoon opening, the Health Minister said Singapore is on track to have 32 polyclinics by 2030. For the Hougang side, that mostly means more choice to the south; the four listed here remain the main options.
