Oasis Terraces is the neighbourhood centre on the Punggol Waterway at 681 Punggol Drive, beside Oasis LRT station. HDB calls it its first New-Generation Neighbourhood Centre: a seven-storey building with a polyclinic, a supermarket, a food court, a 24-hour fitness centre and a community plaza. It is smaller and more local than a regional mall, which is exactly why East-loop residents use it for weekday errands. For anyone considering LinkTown Residences (Hougang Central Residences), its main draw is Punggol Polyclinic, and it is a reasonable NEL and LRT trip away.

Punggol Polyclinic

The polyclinic on level 2 (#02-01) is the reason many people visit. SingHealth lists general medical consultations, diagnostic imaging (including X-ray, mammography and ultrasound) and allied health services. Patients take a queue ticket at a self-service kiosk and register at the counter. Appointments help, especially on weekday mornings, when the building is at its busiest.

What it means for LinkTown Residences

Oasis Terraces shows HDB’s newer approach to neighbourhood centres: healthcare, groceries, food and community space in one building on the transport network. Hougang Central is planned on a bigger scale. LinkTown Residences sits above Hougang MRT and a new integrated bus interchange, with a mall of about 300,000 sq ft developed and owned by CapitaLand Integrated Commercial Trust and a town plaza with sheltered public event space, and Punggol Park is nearby for the waterside walk. Expected completion is around 2030 to 2031.
