Cafes in Punggol: Waterway Brunch, Riverside Tables and the New Punggol Coast Spots
Punggol’s cafés sit by the water, in the neighbourhood centres and in the new Punggol Coast Mall. Five we confirmed operating in 2026, how to reach them from Hougang, and which recent closures to skip.

Punggol is a young town, and its café scene has grown up around the water. The best-known spots sit on the waterway at Oasis Terraces, on the riverside at Tebing Lane and in the neighbourhood centres near the coast, while Punggol Coast Mall has added a newer cluster since it opened. This guide lists five cafés and café stops we could confirm operating in 2026, with notes on getting there from Hougang Central, home of the future LinkTown Residences (Hougang Central Residences).
How we checked: every café below appears in a guide or news article dated 2026, and we cross-checked addresses. Cafés change quickly, so confirm hours before you go.

1. Anna’s, Oasis Terraces
681 Punggol Drive, #01-04. A sourdough-first café in the neighbourhood centre beside Punggol Waterway. The menu builds on its own loaves, from breakfast plates and pizzas to a high tea set in the afternoon, and there are loaves to take home. A May 2026 café guide lists it as halal-certified and notes it accepts CDC vouchers. Oasis LRT is a few minutes’ walk away, and the terraced gardens outside make it easy to linger with children.
2. Whisk & Paddle, Tebing Lane
10 Tebing Lane, #01-01. A long-running bistro-café on the Punggol riverside, popular with cyclists heading for Coney Island and families. A July 2026 family dining guide highlights its free sheltered play area and alfresco tables facing the river. Expect all-day breakfast, waffles and heartier mains. It is quieter on weekdays; weekend mornings fill up.
3. Well Collective, Northshore Plaza II
418 Northshore Drive, #02-11/12. A French-Japanese café in the newer estates by the coast, with brunch plates such as a truffled egg croissant, açaí and vegetarian dishes by day and izakaya-style bar bites in the evening. It has a pet-friendly alfresco area and power points, so it works both for a dog walk stop and a weekday laptop session. It was included in pet-friendly and best-café round-ups in May 2026.
4. Woke by Wake the Crew, Punggol Coast Mall
98 Punggol Way, #01-214. The first physical café from Wake the Crew, a coffee brand that previously ran online and at pop-ups. It opened in early April 2026 in Punggol Coast Mall and focuses on specialty and filter coffee, with pastries and a Basque burnt cheesecake that reviewers single out. Reports in May and August 2026 list it as closed on Mondays; check current hours before going.
5. The Punggol Coast Mall chains
Punggol Coast Mall, beside Punggol Coast MRT (NE18) in the Punggol Digital District, has added several chain coffee and tea outlets, including Luckin Coffee on level 2. These are not destination cafés, but they are reliable, air-conditioned and right by the station. Our Punggol Coast Mall guide covers the rest of the mall.
A Punggol morning from Hougang: take the North East Line to Punggol, walk the waterway to Oasis Terraces for brunch at Anna’s, then continue along Punggol Waterway Park. Go early before the sun gets strong.
Recently closed: skip these
- Creamier, Northshore Plaza II: the ice cream café’s Punggol outlet closed with its last day on 31 August 2026.
- Punggol East Container Park: the casual dining site is closing; tenants were reported in September 2026 to have been asked to leave from as early as 31 October so the land can be returned for future housing.
Older café lists also mention outlets that have since gone, so check a café’s recent social media posts or review dates before a special trip.
Getting there from Hougang Central
| Area | Route from Hougang MRT (NE14) |
|---|---|
| Oasis Terraces (Anna’s) | NEL to Punggol (3 stops), then Punggol LRT East Loop to Oasis, or walk along the waterway |
| Tebing Lane (Whisk & Paddle) | NEL to Punggol, then LRT or bus towards the riverside; use a journey planner |
| Northshore Plaza II (Well Collective) | NEL to Punggol, then LRT or bus north; use a journey planner |
| Punggol Coast Mall | NEL to Punggol Coast (4 stops) |
The train leg to Punggol takes roughly 6 to 8 minutes (approximate); the LRT or walk at the other end adds more.
Why Punggol’s cafés matter at Hougang Central
Hougang itself has few independent cafés, so residents of LinkTown Residences will likely head up the North East Line for weekend brunch. Punggol is the obvious choice when you want water views, while Kovan is one stop in the other direction; see cafes in Hougang and, further along, cafes in Sengkang, or the older café strip in Serangoon Gardens. For the home base, the location page maps what is around Hougang Central Residences, and the showflat page will carry viewing details once they are released.
