A round-the-clock supermarket is more useful than it sounds. Shift workers, parents dealing with a late fever or an empty formula tin, and anyone who dislikes weekend crowds all end up here. Who the mall serves
Hougang Green sits among the HDB blocks of Hougang Street 51 and 52, on the western side of the town close to the Sengkang boundary. For residents here, it fills the gap between a void-deck minimart and a trip to a bigger mall. It is also a fallback for anyone in Hougang when the supermarkets at Hougang Central are packed.
Do not confuse Hougang Green Shopping Mall with Buangkok Green Medical Park, which is a separate healthcare cluster in the same general area. Not far away, off Yio Chu Kang Road, is Kampong Lorong Buangkok, Singapore’s last mainland kampong.

- Late-night runs: after 10pm, expect only the supermarket and a few corridors to be busy; most small shops will have closed.

LinkTown Residences is planned above Hougang MRT and a new bus interchange, with its own mall of about 300,000 sq ft and Hougang Mall about two minutes’ walk away. For most shopping, residents will not need to go further than that. Hougang Green is the backup for the times those malls are closed: a 24-hour supermarket roughly 1 km away, reachable by a short bus ride or a walk.
