Punggol Halal Food: 8 MUIS-Certified Spots in Punggol and Sengkang

Looking for Punggol halal food, or something certified in Sengkang next door? Both towns are young, family-heavy and well served by malls, and those malls hold most of the certified outlets. This guide names eight places that appeared in the MUIS halal establishments directory when we searched it on 29 September 2026, shows where the bigger clusters are, and explains how to check a certificate yourself.

Punggol and Sengkang are two to four MRT stops from Hougang Central, where LinkTown Residences (Hougang Central Residences) is planned, so they are easy weekend food trips for residents.

Every place below is labelled halal-certified only because its exact outlet appeared in the MUIS directory on 29 September 2026. Certificates are renewed regularly and can lapse, and stalls change hands. Confirm in the directory or in store, and check opening hours before you go.

How to check certification

  1. Search MUIS. Type the outlet’s name or street into the MUIS directory. The MuslimSG app carries the same data.
  2. Match the outlet, not the brand. Certification is issued per premises. One branch of a chain can be certified while another is not.
  3. Look at the wall. Certified premises display their MUIS certificate. Check the name, address and validity.
  4. Know the difference. “Muslim-owned” means the owner is Muslim; it does not mean the outlet holds MUIS certification. Community apps often mix the two, so treat them as a starting point.

Punggol

1. Anna’s (Oasis Terraces and Punggol Coast Mall)

681 Punggol Drive, #01-04, Oasis Terraces, and 88 Punggol Way, #01-130, Punggol Coast Mall (combined with The Soup Spoon Union). A sourdough café from The Soup Spoon’s founder, with breakfast plates, toasties and cakes built around house-baked bread. Both outlets are MUIS-listed. Oasis Terraces sits beside Oasis LRT on the Punggol East loop; Punggol Coast Mall is on top of Punggol Coast MRT (NE18). See our Oasis Terraces guide, and our Punggol cafés guide for more brunch spots.

2. Chicken Ka Kee (Waterway Point)

83 Punggol Central, #01-29, Waterway Point. A chicken rice brand set up by the family behind Boon Tong Kee, serving steamed and roasted chicken with sides. It is a handy certified chicken rice option inside a Punggol mall, and one of the spots in our North-East chicken rice guide. Waterway Point is above Punggol MRT (NE17), three stops from Hougang, and the MUIS search returned close to 30 certified listings there, mostly chains. See our Waterway Point guide.

3. Cinta Hainanese Chicken Rice (Punggol Coast Hawker Centre)

84 Punggol Way, #02-K72, Punggol Coast Hawker Centre. A certified hawker stall for Hainanese chicken rice at the newest hawker centre in Punggol. The same centre also had a certified mala stall and a pancake stall listed when we checked. The brand runs a second certified stall at the Kopitiam in Compass One, Sengkang.

4. Uncle Penyet (One Punggol)

1 Punggol Drive, #02-01, One Punggol. Indonesian penyet dishes, fried chicken smashed and served with sambal, inside the community and hawker hub. One Punggol is beside Sam Kee LRT, or roughly a 5 to 10 minute walk from Punggol MRT along Punggol Drive.

5. House of White Bee Hoon (The Punggol Settlement)

500 New Punggol Road, #01-10, The Punggol Settlement. A white bee hoon (seafood rice vermicelli) restaurant in the waterfront dining cluster near Punggol Point. The same unit is also listed by MUIS under the group’s Nanyang Kut Teh name. Take a bus from Punggol Bus Interchange.

6. Srisun Prata.com (Punggol Topaz)

261 Punggol Way, #01-01, Punggol Topaz (stall 9). A coffee-shop prata stall run by the Srisun group, for plain and egg prata, murtabak and noodles close to the Punggol West estates. A second certified stall is at 182A Rivervale Crescent in Sengkang.

Sengkang

7. Tenderbest Makcik Tuckshop (Sengkang Riverside Park)

50 Anchorvale Street, #01-02. A tuckshop-style café-restaurant from the Tenderfresh group inside Sengkang Riverside Park, with fried and roasted chicken, nasi lemak, pasta and pizza, and a dining room facing the park. It is walk-in only and suits a family lunch after a morning outdoors. Farmway LRT on the Sengkang West loop is the closest stop. The MUIS directory also lists a second tuckshop at 60 Punggol East. See our Sengkang Riverside Park guide.

8. Kebabs Faktory (Sengkang Grand Mall)

70 Compassvale Bow, #01-10, Sengkang Grand Mall. Kebabs and wraps in the mall above Buangkok MRT (NE15), one stop from Hougang. The mall also had a certified sushi counter and dessert outlets listed. Our Sengkang Grand Mall guide covers the rest.

Where the clusters are

Area Main clusters Good for
Punggol Waterway Point, Punggol Coast Mall and hawker centre, Oasis Terraces, One Punggol Chains, cafés, hawker meals
Sengkang Compass One (about 40 MUIS listings), The Seletar Mall, Rivervale, Anchorvale Village Chains, food courts, bakeries
Buangkok Sengkang Grand Mall Casual mall meals

At Anchorvale Village, the hawker centre had certified stalls including 97 Nasi Lemak, and the Kopitiam at Compass One listed a certified Hjh Maimunah Mini counter for nasi padang. Counts come from our directory search and include supermarket halal sections, so treat them as a rough guide.

Feeding a mixed group? A mall food court with a certified section lets everyone order from different counters and still sit together.

From Hougang Central

LinkTown Residences is planned directly above Hougang MRT (NE14) on the North East Line, so Buangkok is one stop, Sengkang two, Punggol three and Punggol Coast four. Closer to home, the Srisun Express restaurant on Hougang Avenue 8 was also MUIS-listed; see our prata and nasi lemak guide. The Hougang Central integrated development will add a mall of about 300,000 sq ft, but tenants, and whether any will be certified, have not been announced.

For transport links, see the location page, and the project details for what is confirmed about Hougang Central Residences.

Frequently asked questions

How do I check if a restaurant in Punggol is halal-certified?

Search the outlet’s name or address in the MUIS halal establishments directory, or look for the MUIS certificate displayed in store and check that the name, address and expiry date match. Certification is per outlet, not per brand.

Is there halal chicken rice in Punggol?

Yes. On 29 September 2026 the MUIS directory listed Chicken Ka Kee at Waterway Point and Cinta Hainanese Chicken Rice at Punggol Coast Hawker Centre as certified.

Which mall in Punggol has the most halal food?

Waterway Point, above Punggol MRT, had the largest group of MUIS-listed outlets in Punggol when we searched, mostly chains and fast food. In Sengkang, Compass One had even more.

Is Muslim-owned the same as halal-certified?

No. A Muslim-owned eatery may follow halal practices without holding MUIS certification. Some diners are comfortable with that; others eat only at certified premises. The MUIS directory lists certified outlets only.
