One Punggol Hawker Centre: New Operator, 34 Stalls and Cleaning Dates for 2026

One Punggol Hawker Centre sits on the second floor of One Punggol, the civic hub on Punggol Drive that also holds a community club and Punggol Regional Library. It opened in October 2022 and has been Punggol’s main neighbourhood hawker centre since. In August 2026 it changed operator, so older write-ups are partly out of date. This guide covers what the centre is now, what the change means, and how it fits into life for residents around Hougang Central, including future owners at LinkTown Residences (Hougang Central Residences).

The 2026 operator change

One Punggol is a socially-conscious enterprise hawker centre (SEHC): NEA owns it and sets the terms, and an appointed operator runs it. Its first operator, Timbre+ Hawkers, agreed with NEA to end its tenure early. In December 2025, NEA said Timbre+ would conclude on 14 August 2026 and that it would call an open tender for a new operator.

That tender went to Hawkermania, a subsidiary of coffee-shop operator Kimly Group, which took over on 15 August 2026. Mothership reported a winning bid of S$3.64 million and a contract of up to nine years. NEA’s conditions for the new operator included:

• keeping on existing stallholders who wish to continue, for at least two years; and
• holding their current rents for the first year, with later changes capped with reference to market-valued averages.

Stallholders told reporters that business had fallen by around 30% since Punggol Coast Hawker Centre opened in July 2025, and residents said they wanted more variety at budget prices. Expect some turnover of stalls as the new operator settles in.

What to expect as a diner

• Food: a general heartland spread of rice, noodles, local breakfast, drinks and desserts. With a line-up in flux, we have not named individual stalls. For certified options in the building, see our Punggol halal food guide.
• Hours: each stall sets its own hours and rest day. Breakfast and lunch are the safest bets; fewer stalls trade late.
• Combine it: families often pair a meal with the library or a class at the community club in the same building.
• Tray return and payment: return trays to the return points; carry a little cash alongside e-payment.
• Timing: weekend lunch is the busiest slot. Eat a little early or late, and look for a seat before you queue.

The other Punggol hawker centre

Punggol Coast Hawker Centre opened on 25 July 2025 on level 2 of Tower 84 at 84 Punggol Way, in the Punggol Digital District by Punggol Coast MRT (NE18). NEA lists 40 cooked food stalls, and NEA’s August 2026 list names FairPrice Group Hawker Centre as its operator. Getting there from Hougang Central

• MRT: Hougang (NE14) to Punggol (NE17) is three stops north, roughly 6 to 8 minutes on the train (approximate). One Punggol is on Punggol Drive, a walk or short LRT or bus ride from the station; use a journey planner for the best route.
• Car: One Punggol has parking; charges apply.

What this means for Hougang Central residents

From LinkTown Residences, planned directly above Hougang MRT, Punggol’s two hawker centres are a short, direct ride up the North East Line, and the Koufu at Punggol Plaza is another budget option in the town.
